Cuculus Contributes to High-Level ESMIG Discussions on Europe’s Energy Future

Supporting the Clean Industrial Deal and Affordable Energy Action Plan

This week, Cuculus participated in the ESMIG members meeting in Brussels, where key stakeholders gathered to discuss the new European Commission work programme, with a particular focus on the Clean Industrial Deal and the Affordable Energy Action Plan.

As an active ESMIG member, Cuculus is proud to support these important initiatives aimed at driving a more affordable, sustainable, and secure energy future. Our CEO, René Böringer, who also serves as a board member of ESMIG, continues to represent our vision for smart energy solutions that benefit both utilities and consumers.

The meeting featured valuable exchanges with European Commission representatives and industry leaders, including:

  • Alexandre Martin (Secretariat General, European Commission) on competitiveness, simplification, and the upcoming “Grid Package”
  • Charles Esser (Secretary General, E.DSO) on the growing role of DSOs and the E.DSO Smart Metering Task Force
  • Tadhg O’Briain (Deputy Head of Unit, DG Energy) on consumer engagement and the Affordable Energy Action Plan

These conversations further emphasized the importance of smart meters and smart grid data in enabling the energy transition and delivering real value to end users.

Cuculus remains committed to contributing to European energy policy discussions and collaborating with ESMIG, E.DSO, and the European Commission to promote innovation and secure, sustainable energy infrastructure.
